TAG Alliances Fall Conference & Isle of Man Indaba in South Africa

Our Group Chairman, Basil & Co-Director, Martin recently completed two successful business trips.

Their first was for the TAG Alliances Fall Conference TAG Alliances (TAGLaw, TIAG, TAG-SP) in Dublin, Ireland, between 19 – 21 October where they were joined by Lynsey Smith, Director of Atla Audit & Assurance Limited. They all participated in enjoyable and informative seminars, meeting connections and networking with other business professionals.  They also enjoyed some traditional Irish culture whilst they were in Ireland!

The journey set-off further afield for the Isle of Man Indaba, where Basil & Martin travelled to four areas in South Africa and both had a fulfilling two weeks talking all thing Isle of Man, and the services Atla Group offer in respect of fiduciary and pension solutions for international clients.

The panel at the event in Durban represented a wide range of financial institutions from both South Africa and the Isle of Man. Discussions surrounding physical and financial emigration, ensuring wealth planning is established for family, asset protection and wealth enhancement is maximised, overlaid with the tax implications.

Location 2 – Johannesburg, 27 October 2022

South Africa and the Isle of Man

We move on to Johannesburg, with Martin moderating the panel and Basil on the panel of speakers at the event. The panel discussed both banking and wealth management solutions that can be tailored for those looking to diversify internationally. Including pension solutions and Isle of Man opportunities for asset protection and relocation.

Location 3 – Cape Town, 31 October

Going international with the Isle of Man

As we edged closer towards the end of the Indaba Event, those present discussed business, succession and family structuring through the Isle of Man, taking businesses international, cross border tax considerations and financial family planning. The audience were super engaging and were keen to participate in discussions relating to trust and company solutions available from Atla Fiduciaries Limited and pension solutions available from Atla Retirement Solutions Limited.

Location 4 – Cape Winelands, Stellenbosch, 01 November

Building wealth protection and trust – Isle of Man

The event concluded in Cape Winelands, with the panel focusing on international trust, corporate and pension solutions and how financial planning and investment management can play a key role to protect family wealth and succession. With such an esteemed panel who lead a round-table discussion on the Isle of Man’s finance centre.

Concluding the Indaba event this autumn of 2022, the organisers of the Isle of Man Indaba kindly set up an intimate lunch with the Island’s Chief Minister, Honourable Alf Cannan MHK and selected guests. Catching up with our Group Chairman, Basil, and Director, Martin, they were delighted to have been invited and sought interesting conversations with those present on the financial solutions the Island has to offer, including those services available from the fiduciary and pensions divisions of the Atla Group plus inward and outward investments for South African residents.
