Atla Attends “Garage for Girls” Workshop with Island Tyres
As part of Atla Group’s commitment to professional development, wellbeing, and practical life skills, a group of Atla colleagues recently attended a Garage for Girls automotive awareness workshop hosted by Island Tyres.
The Garage for Girls initiative is designed to help women feel more confident and informed when it comes to their vehicles. Through a relaxed, hands-on session in a real workshop environment, attendees were introduced to the basics of car maintenance and safety — breaking down common misconceptions and removing the intimidation factor that often comes with garages and vehicle upkeep.
During the session, Island Tyres’ experienced team guided participants through essential vehicle knowledge, including how to check oil levels, understand tyre safety, recognise common warning signs, and feel more comfortable asking the right questions about car maintenance. The practical nature of the workshop meant attendees could see vehicles “behind the scenes” and ask questions in an open, supportive setting.
Atla colleagues described the session as informative, engaging, and genuinely empowering, with many highlighting how valuable it was to gain a clearer understanding of car care fundamentals. Learning these skills not only builds confidence but also supports personal independence — helping attendees feel better equipped to manage everyday situations with assurance.
The event also supported the wider community, with donations encouraged on the night in aid of Victim Support Isle of Man, reinforcing the positive social impact of the initiative.
Atla was proud to take part in this workshop and would like to thank Island Tyres for hosting such a welcoming, practical and impactful session. Initiatives like Garage for Girls align closely with Atla’s focus on employee wellbeing, continued learning, and supporting opportunities that extend beyond the workplace.
We look forward to supporting similar initiatives in the future that encourage confidence, knowledge‑building, and community connection.
