Basil Bielich

Basil took on the role of Group Chairman in 2021, having previously served as a director since 1998. He has a particular interest in niche technology and internet companies. Basil’s main strength lies in gaining an in-depth knowledge of his clients’ businesses before applying his commercial skills to support them. He works with a large and varied client base and has specialist knowledge of tax planning and strategic advice, with the ability to improve profit levels and introduce cost-saving schemes. Basil attained a degree at the University of Stellenbosch and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994. In his spare time, he enjoys travelling, is a member of Ramsey Golf Club, and, as a South African, is a keen football, cricket and rugby supporter. Basil is active in the Manx community; he is President of the Isle of Man Commonwealth Games Association and has served as treasurer for several charities, associations and sports clubs.
